Backstory

Samuel "Sammy" Crane, born into a family of miners in Shadewood Hollow, grew up in the shadow of the Monaghan Mining Company. Fascinated by tales of the mountains' spirits, he followed his father, Caleb, into the mines at a young age. Tragedy struck when a preventable cave-in claimed his father’s life, forcing Sammy to provide for his family while harboring a growing resentment toward the company.

A hard worker known for challenging unsafe conditions, Sammy’s frustrations turned to action when Eleanor "Nellie" Daws arrived, inspiring him to join the fight for miners’ rights. Using his knowledge of the mines, Sammy rallied his fellow workers and became a trusted ally in Nellie’s movement. Though targeted by company enforcers, he remains resolute, driven by his father’s memory and the hope of a better future. Sammy’s courage and determination mark him as a rising leader in the fight for justice in Shadewood Hollow.
