  • Lyle Shultz (Former Owner): Son of Aiden Shultz, who took over the family business and expanded it, though his life was tragically cut short in the recent landslide that ravaged part of the town.

Overview

The Shultz gunsmith, founded in 1832 by Aiden Shultz, has become a cornerstone of Shadewood Hollow’s economy, specializing in custom-made firearms and weaponry. Aiden, who honed his craft in the Appalachian wilderness, created firearms that were known for their reliability and precision. His reputation attracted hunters, traders, and even lawmen, making the shop a highly regarded establishment.

However, by 1860, after a series of conflicts with Monaghan's men over land rights, the shop’s role shifted from just crafting tools to providing arms for self-defense against outside threats. Lyle Shultz, Aiden’s son, took over the business after his father’s passing in 1881, but under his stewardship, the shop began to face more serious challenges. With the rise of tensions between the supernatural factions and human settlers, the demand for firearms escalated.

Lyle adapted to these changes by expanding his services to include the sale of ammunition and weapon repairs, catering to both local miners and supernatural factions. However, in a tragic turn, Lyle was killed during the recent landslide that devastated part of Shadewood Hollow. His death has left the shop in an uncertain state, but it remains open, still serving as a key provider of arms and ammunition to both humans and supernatural creatures.

Though the shop is still operational, it is now in need of a new owner to take the reins and continue the family legacy. The surviving workers and apprentices continue to craft and repair weapons, but the future of the business is unclear without a steady hand to guide it. Some speculate that the shop will eventually fall into the hands of someone with a new vision, while others fear that the business may be taken over by outside interests.

Secrets & Lore

  • The Armory: The shop contains a hidden armory somewhere in Shadewood, stocked with some of the most powerful and custom-made firearms in the region, including rare enchanted weapons, which Lyle refused to speak of openly.

  • The Blueprints: Hand-drawn blueprints of ancient firearms, passed down through generations, are said to be hidden in a locked drawer in one of the gun cases.
