How does time travel work?
Time travel is shrouded in mystery. One moment, it’s November 28th, 2024, and the next, you awaken in the same month and day—but in the year 1890. Where you arrive is up to you, but remember to account for the travel times and methods available in this historical period.

What if my race from a previous sim doesn’t align with the races in Shadewood Hollow?
The time-jump works in mysterious ways. During the leap, your character was altered, awakening in this new world with a fresh identity that fits within Shadewood Hollow’s racial guidelines. Now, they must adapt and learn to survive all over again.

Do I have to time travel?
Not at all! You’re welcome to play a character who was born and raised in the 1800s. Time travel is an option for those who wish to bring characters from previous stories into this setting.

How do I get whitelisted?
It’s all about connections. To join, someone already part of the roleplay must vouch for you by submitting a “Invite Request” ticket via Discord.

Is there a HuD?
Yes! Our HuD will be available in the OOC zone. Check out our guide on the Character Creation page for more information.

Can I buy and sell in game?
Yes! Check out our HUD on the Character Creation page.

What’s the difference between a Faction Lead and a Racial Lead?
Faction Lead (In-Character Role):
A Faction Lead is a character who leads a specific faction within the story of the sim. This is a fully in-character role, and the leader can shape the beliefs, rules, and dynamics of their group as they see fit. They don’t have to be inclusive or neutral—just like in any story, they can be biased, political, or passionate in their convictions. Faction Leads often have second-in-commands or other IC roles to help them manage their faction within the narrative. Faction Leads are most often also Racial Leads, but not always.
Racial Lead (Out-of-Character Role):
A Racial Lead is a player role, not an in-character one. They support others outside the story by answering questions about a specific race, guiding new or stuck players, and helping with race-related plots and consistency across the sim. Their focus is on helping players, not leading within the story.
The Key Difference:
Faction Leads and Racial Leads are two very different roles that serve different needs.

  • Faction Leads work in-character to build story and dynamics within a specific group or faction.

  • Racial Leads work out-of-character to support players and ensure a strong, consistent experience across the sim for a specific race.

These roles don’t always overlap, and they aren’t interchangeable—they’re a separation of duties meant to cover both the story side and the player support side of the sim experience.
