Backstory
Katarina Moreau, born in early 17th-century Paris as the illegitimate daughter of a wealthy merchant, learned early to navigate society with charm and cunning to overcome the stigma of her birth. Her mother’s struggles instilled in Katarina a resolve to never be powerless. At 23, she was attacked and abandoned by her sire, Louis Sauvage, forcing her to adapt to her vampiric nature alone.
Arriving in New Orleans in the mid-1600s, Katarina built a supernatural trade empire, connecting witches, daemons, and vampires across the New World. Her network became vital for supernatural survival, her cunning and resourcefulness earning her a reputation for ruthless efficiency. By the late 1700s, her influence drew the attention of The Congregation, where she secured a seat on the American council at Solomon House.
Katarina is both revered and feared for her results-driven approach, sacrificing human and supernatural lives to secure her objectives. Fiercely loyal to her survival and legacy, she rewards competence and eliminates inefficiency without hesitation. Her trade routes extend into the Appalachian Highlands, supporting supernatural factions in the region while she maintains a calculating presence at Solomon House.
Though rarely seen in Shadewood Hollow, her influence is undeniable. Her emissaries act as her eyes and ears, ensuring her quiet but formidable power shapes the region from the shadows.
